Eric Johnson, a wildland firefighter with the US Forest Service, explains the barriers to fire abatement, why most cities are not equipped to handle fires this size, how the winds came into play, defining containment, and much more.
I also speak briefly with two FEMA representatives on GoFundMe and insurance, and a senior program manager for Better Neighbors Project on what people can do to lend their support.
